client Antwerp city

Het Steen in Antwerp, a historical monument, was renovated and extended to accommodate a cruise terminal and a museum that offer a small introduction to the city. By building a deep cellar right next to the Scheldt, the groundwater drainage of the building pit was strongly influenced by the tidal working of the Scheldt. The structure of the new building is completely separate from that of the existing monument. In some places, special constructions were necessary in order not to damage the Roman remains. A panoramic tower was also built along the Scheldt.
